The Truth About Organic and Natural Gardening

Many people think that organic gardening is something that originated from the hippie movement, or is something mystical. There is nothing mystical about using natural components that come from the earth, to plant your own garden. This article will provide information telling you that mysticism has nothing to do with organic gardening.

The flower children of the 60s were not the first to plant gardens without making use of chemicals, even though that might have been the first time many people had heard of it. It is just because there was plenty of media attention at that time, organic gardening had been around for a long time, many centuries in fact. The Amish, only just for one instance, have been practicing organic farming since its inception. Plus they get better results without resorting to the toxic bug sprays and weed killers in common use today. It is normal around the globe to find farmers who only use the ancient traditions of organic growing.

The idea that your garden will inevitably fall victim to bugs and other pests is typical, but misinformed. People in america are instructed that expensive, poisonous chemicals are the only way to cope with these infestations. One easy, natural answer is the use of birds to control bugs and other pests. To get birds, all you need to do is create an attractive, bird-friendly environment. Erect a birdhouse and a supply of fresh water, and you should have all the birds you need. As soon as the birds discover all those tasty bugs in your garden, and the thoughtfully placed nesting place and water, they'll move in to stay.

You need to understand that it takes more than tossing a few seeds around and watching for the sun and rain to do their magic. And you also do need to appreciate the importance of planting the right seeds in the appropriate dirt where they will grow well. Additionally you need to take into account whether your climate is right for whatever it is you want to grow. A wet climate works jointly with far different plants than a dry climate. Plus earthworms are a great thing; they break up the soil and make it more conducive for plant development. Earthworms require time to do their task, so you might speed things up by purchasing some organic soil to spread and till in. By doing this, you're going to be creating your own growing medium.

You can find out a lot more about organic gardening on the web, or by visiting your local plant nursery. And seeing that you recognize the health benefits of natural and organic gardening, you will want to pass the information on to your kids?

I know what you are talking out. I had the same problem UNTIL. Cora Cordana from Dallas turned me on to this bug device, that kills mosquitos.

In the supermarket or next to bug sprays-off, etc. Find this little device that plugs into the electrical socket called “Baygon” and/or “Raid.” You then put a small wafer, “plaquitas” into this device. AND mosquitos are gone. I like to sleep with windows open too. So like 15 min before bed I plug that thing in and put a wafer in, then when i go to bed no mosquitos AND no bug spray in the room or on me either. The “Raid” one I can smell, but the “Baygon” is odorless.

Never saw a device like this in Dallas but it is available her. Funny how not a window has a wind screen here.
